Ketamine Assisted Therapy in Boulder and Denver
Helping People Heal Trauma, Depression, and Severe Anxiety with Ketamine-Assisted Therapy.
What is the Innate Healing and Integrative Therapy Center of Boulder Ketamine Assisted Therapy Program?
You may feel like you have tried everything when it comes to feeling better. With that comes a sense of exhaustion or despair: will I feel this way forever? While prescription medication, therapy, joyful movement, and self-care practices may have provided you some relief, you still struggle to reach a feeling of ‘baseline’.
It might feel like every day is a fight against the anxiety, depression, or traumatic lived experiences that have shaped your life. You may have even dove deep into therapy or introspective work when it comes to these sensations of unrest and dis-ease. You have seen some progress, but it’s too little or too fleeting to get you to where you want to be.
Here’s the wonderful news: the way ketamine works within the brain shows incredibly promising results for people who are just like you. Ketamine-assisted therapy is a legal, safe, and therapeutic experience available in Boulder and Denver for people who are seeking extra assistance on their healing journeys. Your body has the innate capabilities to heal you: you just need the right tools and the right guide.

How Does Ketamine Assisted Psychedelic Therapy Work?
Ketamine-assisted therapy in a clinical setting is a safe, legal, and powerfully effective way to take your healing journey to the next level. Ketamine was originally approved for anesthetic purposes in the 1970s. While it worked wonderfully for its intended purposes, the medical field was quick to notice something else happening. Ketamine was providing consistent, lasting, and incredible mental health benefits to its patients.
Since those times, the use of ketamine in clinical settings as a therapeutic tool has been intensively studied. It is currently the most promising tool for treating medication-resistant mental health issues. Ketamine works on a structural level to help your body heal. Your brain uses neural pathways to send messages and move important chemicals from one part of the brain to another. When we have healthy neural pathways, the neural connections look like a beautiful garden, with lush plants reaching out to one another. Stress, anxiety, and trauma create wear and tear on the neural pathways in your brain. Instead of strong and mighty, your neural pathways begin to look like an abandoned garden.
Chemicals have a hard time completing their journey, and it takes more work for your brain to send the signals it needs. Within a 72 hour period of taking ketamine, scientists have observed that neural pathways can be restored and your brain can be rewired: it resembles a well-cared-for garden again.
The Benefits of Ketamine Assisted Therapy
You can stay on your prescribed medication. Tapering off of medication can be an incredibly taxing process. Ketamine interacts with certain areas of the brain that are not normally targeted by traditional antidepressants. With the exception of MAOI’s, you can stay on prescribed medication as you complete your ketamine-assisted therapy protocols. If you are taking an MAOI, contact us to learn more about what treatment can look like for you.
Ketamine works quickly and with fewer side effects. Typical medications for mental health concerns can take weeks or months for any noticeable changes to occur. Along with that, side effects like weight gain and loss of sex drive are more common than not. Fast-acting medications, like Klonopin or Xanax, come with widely reported risks of addiction and dependence. Ketamine can provide relief within hours. In laboratory studies, positive effects were felt as quickly as 3 hours after treatment, and brain synapse restructuring was observed within 12. When mental health is involved, time is of the essence. You might have already felt like you have waited a lifetime for relief— don’t wait another day!
Ketamine has an incredible success and remission rate. In a case analysis of clinical studies, symptoms stayed in remission for over 70% of users. In comparison, there is a less than 20% success rate of traditional medication for the same symptoms. If you suffer from severe depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, PTSD, or suicidal ideation: there is hope.
The Innate Healing and Integrative Therapy Center of Boulder Ketamine Assisted Therapy Treatment Process:
-
Free Consultation:
When it comes to working with my clients, I believe that no experience is the same. I believe that you have the innate ability to heal, and I want to get to know you so I can be your guide. Because of my dedication to personalization, free consultations are a little longer than the norm.
My process takes about an hour. This gives me time to get to know you and to see if Ketamine Assisted Therapy is a good fit for you. From there, I tailor your treatment to fit your needs. We will discuss a personalized treatment plan, including what interventions I recommend and what I think your time commitment will look like.
-
Pre-Sessions:
Investment: $150/ session
One of the things that make ketamine-assisted psychotherapy special is the intentionality that surrounds the process. Our time together is focused on ceremony, ritual, and setting. We work together on creating a grounded spirit that is able to navigate the present moment with courage.
While ketamine provides neurological healing, having a framework to understand yourself and your experiences is a crucial step of the healing process. We will discuss the symptoms that are prompting you to consider ketamine-assisted therapy, but we will also set an intention— this is our time to discuss any traumas or emotions that you hope to process during our protocols.
I will also use this time to discuss what your experience with ketamine will be like, what to expect, how to prepare, and the treatment length I best recommend based on your desired outcome.
I typically recommend 4-6 pre-sessions before we begin our ketamine-assisted therapy protocols. We can determine what your length of treatment will look like during our free consultation.
-
Ketamine Assisted Therapy Protocol:
During our ketamine-assisted therapy sessions, we will focus on using the innate biological abilities of your brain to process and heal the trauma that is stored in your mind and body. These sessions typically last for three hours.
We can process verbally together, or you can ‘tune out’ and focus on your experience. Whichever you choose, the ketamine will be working hard to create new neurological pathways and memories from this state of calmness and safety.
After your experience is over, we begin an integration process. This is the post-process work that we do together to help you integrate messages, ideas, and interpretations from your ketamine experience into your life.
I recommend a minimum of 3 protocols for ketamine-assisted therapy and recommend 6 sessions for maximum results. We will determine what your length of treatment will look like during our free consultation.
Investment: $450/ session.

Ketamine Assisted Therapy FAQ’s
Who is eligible to participate in the Innate Healing and Integrative Therapy Center of Boulder’s Ketamine Assisted Therapy program?
Ketamine-assisted therapy is available to individuals 21 and older.
I work with women who are ready for growth and change. My clients already are practicing self-care and self-exploration in many areas of their lives, but they feel like they have hit a wall when it comes to healing certain mental health issues.
Unfortunately, ketamine-assisted therapy does not show the same efficacy for people who have bipolar disorder, personality disorders, or schizoaffective disorders.
There are also certain prescription drugs that require special care before undertaking a ketamine-assisted therapy protocol. When you see my prescriber for your ketamine prescription, they will work with you to make sure that ketamine therapy is an appropriate treatment based on the medications you are taking and your medical history.
Please note: Screening for substance abuse will be evaluated prior to treatment. Unsafe use of ketamine is not condoned by the Innate Healing and Integrative Therapy Center of Boulder. All treatment is done in a controlled and clinical setting.
Do you provide the ketamine for me?
Ketamine requires a prescription from an authorized medical provider. Your eligibility to be prescribed ketamine is at the discretion of a medical professional. Prescriber information will be provided after your free consultation.
Will my insurance cover my treatment?
I am an out-of-network provider and therefore I do not work directly with any insurance plans.
This can be a benefit to you when it comes to treating mental-health-related symptoms. Any insurance claim requires a medical diagnosis to authorize treatment, even if a medical diagnosis does not exist in your situation.
Even worse, the insurance company determines how many counseling sessions are appropriate for your treatment, regardless of where you are in the healing process.
By working out of insurance, we are able to work together regardless of any medical diagnosis (or lack thereof). We can choose how frequently we want to meet, and we do not have to terminate treatment on the whim of a third party (your insurance provider).
